Man Charged With Selling, Possessing Illegal Fireworks After Traffic Stop On Route 93

WILMINGTON (CBS) -- A man has been charged with selling and possessing illegal fireworks following an early Saturday morning traffic stop on Route 93 South in Wilmington.

State Police say they stopped a minivan near Exit 40 around 2 a.m. after it made multiple motor vehicle violations. The driver, 36-year-old Allston resident Ryan Teja was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of fireworks, improperly storing fireworks, unlawful selling of fireworks and a marked lanes violation.

During their investigation, police say they found 12 cases of fireworks including commercial-grade fireworks worth about $7,500

Teja was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Woburn District Court on Tuesday.
