Car Crosses Median, Causes Crash On I-95 In Attleboro

ATTLEBORO (CBS) - A rush hour crash on I-95 South in Attleboro caused major traffic problems Thursday evening.

State Police say the crash happened when a white Ford Explorer traveling northbound crossed the median and hit a car head-on traveling southbound. It is unclear what caused the SUV to cross the median.

A third vehicle that was traveling southbound was also involved in the crash.

The driver of the Explorer, a 33-year-old West Barnstable man, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

A 52-year-old Providence, Rhode Island man and a 58-year-old Attleboro man were also transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Multiple southbound lanes were closed while the crash was cleared. All lanes were reopened by 8:30 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
