Hudson Dedicates Bridge To Fallen Marine In Memorial Day Ceremony

HUDSON (CBS) -- The town of Hudson dedicated a bridge in honor of a fallen Marine on Monday.

The Memorial Day ceremony recognized Capt. Seth Michaud, killed at age 27 by friendly fire in 2003 while serving in Africa.

"We still miss Seth. We still have that empty space in our hearts," his father Fran Michaud said. "But today we're able to talk about him and laugh at some of the things he did. That empty space is being filled with memories and that's what important."

The newest bridge in town can be seen from Michaud's parents' house.

"We'll never forget our servicemen and women," said Brian Stearns, the town's veteran services officer. "Him being a hometown boy, how better could you honor the family and this young man?"
