Hopkinton Rollover Crash Backs Up I-495 Traffic

BOSTON (CBS) – A rollover crash severely damaged a car and backed up traffic on Interstate 495 in Hopkinton on Monday morning.

Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash just after 7:45 a.m. on I-495 South near Exit 21.

The two right lanes of the road were closed as firefighters used the jaws of life to remove the driver.

Traffic backed up into Westboro, though the scene was eventually cleaned up and traffic began flowing again at about 9:30 a.m.

Police said a 2007 Nissan Xterra driven by a 49-year-old Nashua, N.H., woman hit the rear of a tractor trailer that was in the breakdown lane.

The woman was removed from the car and transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Her condition is not currently known, police said.
