Hopkinton Police Search For Hit-And-Run Driver That Left Man Seriously Hurt

HOPKINTON (CBS) – Hopkinton Police are looking for help finding the driver wanted for a hit-and-run last month that left a man seriously hurt.

The 31-year-old Burlington man was hit on East Main Street on Saturday, January 22 around 3 a.m. It happened just a few yards from the Boston Marathon starting line.

Police say a nurse on her way home from work spotted the man unconscious in the middle of the road. He was rushed to UMass-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He has a broken leg and several broken ribs.

Hopkinton Police Detective Benjamin Stickney told WBZ-TV surveillance video in the area showed the man walking by and then when he went out of camera range, four vehicles had passed through that area before the nurse found him lying in the road.

On Thursday, police released surveillance images of a "vehicle of interest" in the case. They say that car, a Toyota in the video, was the last one to pass through the intersection before the man was hit.

Police are also looking to identify the three other vehicles seen on video in the area at the time.

Investigators are asking residents who live in the area to provide any home video surveillance footage they have from Saturday, January 22 between the hours of 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.
