Hopkinton Company's Truck Stunt Nets 10M Views

HOPKINTON (CBS) -- EMC is in the business of data storage and cloud computing, but the Hopkinton company is also behind a viral video that looks like it belongs in a "Fast And The Furious" movie.

The video with nearly 10.5 million views shows a massive semi-truck jumping off a ramp while a Formula 1 racecar darts beneath it. The company says the truck – sporting the EMC logo – set a world record tractor-trailer jump of 83 feet, 7 inches.

The jump is "100% real" and Guinness World Record-certified, according to EMC. The truck weighed about 16 tons and was going 70 mph when it hit the ramp, the company said.

EMC said it partnered with the +Lotus F1 racing team and stuntman Mike Ryan, who has driven in dozens of action movies, including the "Fast And The Furious" series.
