Woman Charged With Spitting At, Kicking NH Officers

HOOKSETT, N.H. (CBS) – A New Hampshire woman was arrested Friday night after she allegedly assaulted and tried to spit on police officers at a CVS.

Hooksett Police arrived at a CVS on Whitehall Road for a possible domestic disturbance and found two people matching the description of the people believed to be involved.

While police spoke to the pair, they say 27-year-old Kayla Cooke became aggressive and "initiated a fight" with one of the officers.

She was taken to the ground and handcuffed, but allegedly kicked another officer in the leg and tried to spit on them while she was placed into the police cruiser.

Cooke was charged with resisting arrest and two counts of simple assault. She was released on personal recognizance bail.

Police found no domestic disturbance had taken place prior to officer arrival.
