Homeless Shelter In Dorchester Gets Surprise Makeover

BOSTON (CBS) – Bassett Furniture delivered a truck full of new couches, chairs and other items to Dorchester's ReVision Family Home on Thursday.

It was a surprise for the organization that helps homeless women and their families.

Those running the home say it was a much-needed addition.

"To have such lovely furniture is a plus because there's a lot of trauma that goes with someone being placed in a shelter," Program Director Torleah Washington said. "Just to be able to come somewhere and feel like it's clean, it's very refreshing for the families."

This was Bassett's ninth such donation and delivery since last October and is part of their Make(over) A Difference initiative that creates fresh living spaces for community-based organizations.
