WATCH: High School Hockey Crowd Finishes Singing National Anthem After Recording Stops
BOURNE (CBS) – A technical glitch didn't stop a performance of the national anthem Tuesday evening before a hockey game between Canton and Norwood.
Canton digital teacher Ed McDonough tweeted video of the crowd at Bourne's Gallo Ice Arena coming together for a loud and proud rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

His recording of the "beautiful moment" has been viewed thousands of times on Twitter. "The recording of the National Anthem stopped but the crowd didn't skip a beat," McDonough wrote. "They all joined in to sing and finish the song."
Canton went on to win the game 6-1 over Norwood.

Canton stayed unbeaten for the season while Norwood was bumped from the playoffs, but the impromptu a Capella anthem might well be something folks remember longer.
"It was just crazy, it was awesome," Canton defenseman Jack Connolly said.
In fact it made many think about that first Bruins game after the marathon bombing when Rene Rancourt let patriotic fans at the Garden carry the anthem. This was just on a much smaller scale.
"Just from the heart," McDonough said. "It was a wonderful thing."
