Hingham Police Seek Motorcyclist Caught On Camera Fleeing Traffic Stop

HINGHAM (CBS) – Police are asking the public to help them identify a motorcyclist who fled a Hingham officer during a traffic stop over the weekend.

A dashboard camera clip from Saturday shows police attempting to stop a man on a 2004-06 GSXR 600/750 motorcycle for a traffic violation.

Instead, the man drove onto a side road, turned around and sped off.

Hingham Police say they called off the pursuit for safety reasons.

The man drove onto Route 228 South and then to Route 53 North.

According to police, the motorcyclist's rear license plate was bent upwards.

Another person seen in the video driving a Dodge truck is not wanted by police. But officers say the driver appeared to be with the motorcyclist.
