Drain Cleaner Odor Sparked Hazmat Investigation At Watertown Apartment Building

WATERTOWN (CBS) -- The State Fire Marshal says a drain cleaner odor sparked a hazmat investigation and evacuation of a Watertown apartment building on Saturday.

The hazmat teams were called to the Tier 3 hazmat situation at one apartment unit at the Warren Street building near Lexington Street around 4:30 p.m. A Tier 3 level of response involves a long-term operation by a full team, according to the Department of Fire Services website.
