Harbormaster Rescues Boater From Fire Off Cape Cod

HARWICH (CBS) -- A boater had to be rescued after his vessel caught fire off Cape Cod Sunday morning.

Harwich fire officials said the engine of a 24-foot fiberglass boat sparked a fire about a quarter mile off shore.

The boat occupant was rescued by the harbormaster, officials said. He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, where his condition was not known.

The fire was extinguished and the boat sank.
