Haitians Celebrate Heritage In Mattapan Parade

MATTAPAN (CBS) -- Bright costumes, vibrant dancing, the mix of French and English, and Haitian pride swept up Blue Hill Ave. on Sunday.

"I'm here to support my people, and Haitian flag day," one parade-goer told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.

More than 200 local organizations, schools and businesses from all over New England participated in the event.

Notables who marched in the parade included Mayor Martin Walsh, State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, and Former State Representative Marie St. Fleur.
