'Manchester By The Sea' Up For Major Awards At Golden Globes

LOS ANGELES (CBS) – "Manchester By The Sea," a film set on the North Shore and in the Massachusetts town of the same name, has been nominated for some of the biggest honors at the Golden Globes.

The movie about a janitor in Quincy who becomes the guardian of his teenage nephew after a death in the family is nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama.

The film's star, Casey Affleck, is up for Best Actor - Drama. Affleck, born in Falmouth and raised in Cambridge with his brother Ben, won the award for Best Actor at Sunday night's Critics' Choice Awards.

"Manchester By The Sea's" Kenneth Lonergan is up for Best Director, while Michelle Williams is nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

The film is also being considered for Best Screenplay.
