Underground Gas Line Catches Fire During Nor'easter

WENHAM (CBS) – An underground gas line caught fire during Friday's nor'easter.

Huge flames shot from the ground on Cherry Street into the sky.

Police say a utility pole was damaged during the storm, and a live electrical wire arced and ignited the gas line, sending a fireball 30-feet into the air.

Homes in the area were evacuated.

The fire burned for several hours before crews shut the gas off.
