Gas Leak Forces Evacuations In Hyde Park

BOSTON (CBS) -- A gas leak in Hyde Park forced several people to evacuate their homes Wednesday morning.

Residents said they heard a crash, smelled gas and ran out of their house.

The cause appeared to be a broken gutter.

"I'm still scared, I don't want to go in there," one resident said after standing outside for hours in a coat and pajamas.

That woman's son said they thought they were in the clear when all the ice on their house started melting.

"There was an icicle right above the gas meter, we couldn't reach it no matter what we tried to do," he said.

No injuries have been reported.

Officials are on the scene investigating the incident.
