Fund Established For Family Of Slain Brigham And Women's Hospital Doctor

BOSTON (CBS) -- A memorial fund has been set up for the family of a cardiac surgeon slain at Brigham and Women's Hospital on Tuesday.

Dr. Michael Davidson, 44, died after being shot twice by a gunman who later shot and killed himself. The Endovascular Cardiac Surgery director joined the hospital in 2006.

Davidson was a father of a 9-year-old girl, a 7-year-old girl and a 2-year-old son. And his wife Terri Halperin, who is also a physician, is seven months pregnant.

His colleagues said Wednesday that Davidson was a kind physician, loving father and enjoyed playing guitar in a band with other doctors.
