From Boylston To Hopkinton: Dan Marshall

BOSTON (CBS) -- Last year, Dan Marshall told WBZ that he's always wanted to run the Boston Marathon, and needless to say, this year's the year.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Drew Moholland reports

Dan Marshall was at Atlantic Fish Co. as a spectator last year, just feet from the second explosion. He tended to Martin Richard, the 8-year-old who was killed by the bombings.

He told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Drew Moholland that those images are impossible to forget. "Talking to people makes it easier. But you still think about it every day. You just try and move forward but it's easier said than done," said Marshall.

Marshall said he will try to keep his emotions in check when the starting gun goes off. "The past marathons I've done was emotional but this one is going to be at a whole new level."

Dan will be surrounded by supporters when he completes the race. "Everyone says we're going to have a big following at the finish line so I can't wait for that."
