Plazas along the Massachusetts Turnpike, Route 3 in Plymouth, Route 128 in Beverly, Route 6 in Barnstable and others will offer free coffee from 10 p.m. Monday through 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Columbus Day weekend is one of the busiest weekends of the year on Massachusetts highways, with travelers heading toward popular fall destinations in New Hampshire, Maine and Cape Cod.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will operate on a weekday schedule on Monday.
