Four Arrested In Brockton After Police Find Sawed-Off Shotgun
BROCKTON (CBS) – Four people are facing gun charges after State Police arrested them at a Brockton apartment complex on Thursday night.
At around 8:50 p.m., troopers responded to the Battles Farm Housing Complex for a report of people holding a sawed-off shotgun. Troopers searched two cars, a Pontiac Sunfire and a Jeep, and found a Mossberg 16 gauge shotgun along with 6 high-speed shotgun slugs. The shotgun's end had been sawed off and its serial number had been wiped.
Police also found a black BB gun in the Sunfire.
Troopers arrested four Brockton residents: Angela Ransom, 29, Nathan Yassen, 22, Samantha Bottary, 19 and Robert Buttlar, 23.
Ransom was driving the Sunfire and Yassen was its passenger. Bottary was driving the Jeep and Buttlar was its passenger.
Ransom and Yassen both face the following charges: possession of a sawed-off shotgun; possession of a firearm with a defaced number, possession of ammunition without an FID card and conspiracy.
Bottary and Buttlar each face charges of conspiracy; possession of a firearm with a defaced number and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
