Four-Alarm Fire Damages Beacon Street Office Building

BOSTON (CBS) – Two firefighters were injured early Sunday morning fighting a fire that caused over $3 million in damage to a Beacon Street office building.

Crews responded to 877 Beacon Street and were met with heavy fire showing from the building around 1:25 a.m.

The fire reached four alarms in the four-story brick building.

A neighboring apartment building was evacuated to a waiting MBTA bus, but firefighters said the fire wall prevented flames from spreading to the five-story building. The apartments did receive some smoke damage.

Two firefighters were hurt during the fire, one who suffered a foot injury and a second who injured their shoulder. Both were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Investigators were on scene throughout the morning attempting to determine the cause and origin of the fire, which caused about $3 million damage.
