Police Instructor Shot During Fort Devens Training Exercise

AYER (CBS) -- A police instructor was unintentionally shot by a fellow instructor Wednesday morning during a training exercise on the shooting range at Fort Devens.

The Municipal Police Training Committee instructor was shot around 10:05 a.m. Wednesday morning. He was taken to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester by medflight. The MPTC said the unidentified instructor was in stable condition.

They said no recruits were on the range at the time of the shooting.

The incident is under investigation by Massachusetts State Police and the Fort Devens Department of the Army Police and Safety.
