Former Fitchburg Teacher Pleads Guilty To Raping Student

BOSTON (CBS) – A former Fitchburg sex education teacher has pleaded guilty to raping one of her students.

Rachelle Gendron was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison, with 10 years of probation to follow, in the agreement with prosecutors.

The 28-year-old pleaded guilty to enticing a 14-year-old male student into a sexual relationship.

Prosecutors say evidence in the case included text messages and pictures of Gendron exposing herself on the victim's and her cell phones, including photos showing Gendron "in various states of undress."

According to prosecutors, the incidents happened while Gendron was a teacher at North Central Charter Essential School. She was 25 and 26 years old at the time.

The Worcester County District Attorney says the victim and his parents signed off on the plea agreement.
