Former Division III Player Camps At Gillette Stadium In Hopes Of Tryout With Patriots

BOSTON (CBS) -- Abiola Aborishade lit up opposing defenses for UMass Dartmouth's Division III football program. Now, he hopes to make the jump to the NFL. Aborishade works part-time at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Norwood but has recently spent practically every other waking moment standing outside Gillette Stadium holding a sign containing his sales pitch to Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, according to a story from Mass Live.

Aborishade set a UMass Dartmouth record with 84 receptions as a senior in 2014. He has been hanging out at Gillette with his sign for at least a few weeks. He hopes his perseverance will one day lead to an opportunity to try out for the team.

Zolak & Bertrand looked at Aborishade's story Tuesday morning. Scott Zolak said he spoke with him a few weeks ago on the way into Gillette to film Patriots All-Access and one day wished him good luck on his way into the stadium.

"After the draft, I go to do 'All Access' again - boom, he's there again. And I'm thinking, 'This kid's going to get a look,'" said Zolak.

Bertrand wouldn't normally support a story like this and would probably tell the person to get a job, but respects Aborishade for actually working while pursuing his Patriots dream. He actually likes Aborishade's chances of at least getting a tryout, even if he had no chance to make the team.

"[The Patriots] are going to let him in the door," said Bertrand. "Even if it's just for one day, they're going to let him in the door."

Before getting into Aborishade, Zolak & Bertrand played some audio from comedian Jim Breuer, who has become an unlikely source of DeflateGate talk after he told a story about a run-in with John Jastremski.
