Former Carver Chef Accused Of Stealing From Food Pantry

CARVER (CBS) - A food pantry chef in Carver is accused of stealing from the food pantry and Council on Aging where he cooked for more than six years.

Police say chef and site manager, David Lavoie, his girlfriend, Tracey Archer, and her daughter, Kimberly Parkman, were caught on surveillance video stealing food from the pantry. They are also accused of placing specific orders for items such as chicken wings and prime rib with the Council's money.

All three are charged with Larceny and Conspiracy.

"He was responsible for ordering items which makes it difficult to determine how far back we go," Carver Police Chief Marc Duphily said.

Police set up the surveillance video at the Council on Aging in September when town administrators started become suspicious.

Lavoie was then placed on administrative leave and has since resigned.

A new food pantry run by the non-profit "Shane Gives Thanks" is now in operation at 128 Main Street in Carver.
