Flooding On Natick Commuter Rail Tracks Causes Delays

NATICK (CBS) – Several Commuter Rail trains were delayed Friday by flooding on the tracks of the Natick Center station.

Train 509 on the Framingham/Worcester line from South Station was delayed for more than a half hour due to the flooding that resulted from heavy rain.

Passengers at the Natick station were forced to leave their train and switch to another one.

Flood water completely covered one side of the tracks at the station.

Mac Daniel, spokesman for Keolis, the company that runs the Commuter Rail, told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that flooding at the Natick Center station has been a "historical problem."

Water was beginning to subside as of about 10 a.m., Daniel said.
