Five In South Dennis Home Hospitalized For Possible Carbon Monoxide Exposure

SOUTH DENNIS (CBS) -- A carbon monoxide detector may have saved the life of five people in a South Dennis home.

Residents of the home on Elizabeth Lane installed two new detectors on Saturday afternoon after a guest of the home reported not feeling well. A blocked furnace flue caused the detectors to go off almost immediately after they were installed, according to the Dennis Fire Department.

Five adults in the home were rushed to Cape Cod Hospital after they reported feeling flu-like symptoms.

Two dogs and three cats in the home were also examined for possible carbon monoxide exposure.
