Man Rescued From Large Hyde Park House Fire
BOSTON (CBS) -- One man was seriously burned as a result of a fire at a house in Hyde Park.
Lieutenant Bem Claiborne said the man was rescued because of his "grumble."
"We got to the top of the stairs and kind of looked around. Then we heard a grumble," Claiborne said. "The pipe man, he definitely heard someone. The pipe man, we picked up and carried him outside."
A witness says the victim was seriously burned.
"He was pretty bad. His whole side was burned," she said.
Fire officials say the man lived there and was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
A large portion of the fire was knocked down after a short time by firefighters.
Four adults and two children have been left without a home. A dog was also rescued from the house.
The Fire Chief estimated $400,000 was done in damage and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
