Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Fitchburg House Fire

FITCHBURG (CBS) -- Firefighters battled a three-alarm house fire in Fitchburg on Saturday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 1 p.m. at the three-family home on Henry Street. The deputy chief says two families were living there before the blaze, while the third floor was vacant.

Fitchburg and Leominster firefighters responded to the scene, and it took them about an hour to knock down the fire. No firefighters or civilians were hurt.

The deputy chief says the fire appears to have started on the second floor side porch. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire officials say about 10 people were displaced.
