Fired Teacher Arrested Outside Dracut High School

DRACUT (CBS) – A Dracut teacher who had previously been fired was arrested on Thursday morning after returning to the high school grounds, the district said.

Superintendent of Schools Steven Stone said a teacher who had been terminated from his position returned to Dracut High School and tried to enter the building despite a restraining order against him.

The man, who the superintendent did not identify by name, was denied entry into the school. Dracut police were called, and the school was placed into lockdown.

Police arrested the former teacher outside of the high school. The man is expected to be charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct.

According to the Middlesex District Attorney's office, the former teacher will be charged with disorderly conduct.

He is being held in police custody until his arraignment, which is scheduled for Friday in Lowell District Court.
