Fire Rips Through Roof Of East Boston House
BOSTON (CBS) -- A fire in East Boston midday on Sunday forced a heavy response from firefighters.
Fire officials were called to the house on Meridian Street around 12:40 p.m. Flames were coming through the top floor ceiling and roof.
All firefighters were ordered off of the roof. Unstable. A cockloft fire; the expanded area above the top floor ceiling but below the roof. Interior operations ongoing.

No injuries were reported.
Initial investigations said that $500,000 was done in damage.

Crews remained on the scene hours later to monitor and put out hot spots.
The Boston Fire Department tweeted that a cat was saved from the building.
