Westwood Man Charged In Fenway Sex Assault

BOSTON (CBS) – Police have made an arrest in an attack on a woman in the city's Fenway neighborhood.

Michael Purpura, 36, of Westwood surrendered to Medford police Sunday morning.

He is accused of forcing a woman into her apartment and violently sexually assaulting her early Tuesday morning.

Boston Police released surveillance video of a man they say was a suspect in the attack the next day hoping to generate some leads.

"We've been all over the place trying to hunt this individual down.  He knew we were on him and he turned himself into Medford P.D," Boston Police Commissioner William Evans told WBZ-TV Sunday.

Purpura will be arraigned Monday in Roxbury District Court on a charge of aggravated rape.
