Felger & Mazz's New Tankapalooza Theme Song
BOSTON (CBS) - Mike Felger and Tony Massarotti have made the term "tankapalooza" famous.
Tanking is the art of purposely losing games in the hopes of receiving a high draft pick. The Milwaukee Bucks at 9-43 have mastered it, while the 19-35 Celtics could use a lesson or two.
Felger and Mazz have been talking Celtics recently, but their discussions were missing something: a theme song.
At first they tried out "Give It Away" (as in give the season away) by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Felger wanted to choose a song from a band that actually played at Lollapalooza, so RHCP was a good fit.
However, when producer Jimmy Stewart came back from vacation he wasn't thrilled with the selection. They then sampled with "Loser" by Beck but still weren't satisfied.
So with a little help from Melissa (a higher up at the station) and Billy Lanni, a new Tankapalooza theme song was forged.
