Felger & Mazz: New Yorker Of The Day Joe Beningo On Manning's Legacy

BOSTON (CBS) -  Thursday on Radio Row, Felger & Mazz welcomed WFAN's Joe Beningo to the show as their "New Yorker of the Day."

Beningo was quick to say the arrow is pointing up for his New York Jets, though he isn't sure if Geno Smith is the answer at quarterback. And really, it doesn't matter much as long as Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are in New England.

"I think as long as Belichick and Brady are there they'll be a force to be reckoned with," he said. "I don't know if they're going to win Super Bowls, but they're the team you have to go through if you're going to win the AFC East. No question about that."

As for Sunday's Super Bowl between the Seahawks and Broncos, Beningo says Peyton Manning needs another ring in order to really cement his legacy among the greatest to play the game.

"Say what you want (about Manning), but his team has lost a lot of big playoff games when they were the best team all year," he said. "How many times did we see that happen, whether it was to San Diego, the Jets, Pittsburgh or those couple of times to the Patriots? It's happened a lot and I think he needs to win this one.

"Even if he loses on Sunday we'll look at Manning as one of the great quarterbacks of all-time," said Beningo, "but I think he needs to get another Super Bowl to really stamp himself."
