Feeling Like Spring This Christmas

I was really looking forward to a traditional white Christmas in New England as I made the move to Boston.  What a surprise this year with 60s, and heavy rain in the forecast. Hopefully this mild weather will continue all winter long!  But probably not.

We have a few watches/advisories posted for the next couple of days due to the rain & wind.

Coastal Flood Advisory this afternoon: the high tide is between noon and 1 pm along the east coast.  Plus we have a decent easterly wind that will push the water level up a bit.  Minor flooding and minor beach erosion will be possible through 4 pm.

Flood Watch: this is for much of New England tonight into Thursday morning.  We could get 1" to 2" of rainfall with isolated spots getting 3" of rain.

Wind Advisory: 10 pm tonight to 7 am Thursday for southeastern Massachusetts and eastern Rhode Island.  Sustained winds will be between 10 and 20 mph.  Wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph.

Temperatures will continue to rise into the 50s this evening.  We may hit the lower 60s after midnight and into Christmas morning.  Then temps fall during the day Thursday, reaching the 40s by evening.  The rain tapers off Thursday afternoon and the wind will be strong all day long.  Have a wonderful Christmas Eve, and don't forget the rain gear!
