Faneuil Hall Tree Lighting Kicks Off Holiday Season In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – The holiday season has truly arrived in Boston. On Saturday night, thousands turned out for the Faneuil Hall Holiday Spectacular and annual Christmas tree lighting.
The event was co-hosted by WBZ-TV news anchors Lisa Hughes and David Wade.
The program featured holiday musical performances by Livingston Taylor with musicians from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Sons of Serendip, Boston Children's Chorus and performances of The Nutcracker by Boston Ballet, Blue Man Group and Cirque Dreams Holidaze.

The lighting of the 85-foot tall Christmas tree topped off the event. All eyes were trained on the Norwegian spruce and after a dramatic pause, 30,000 lights illuminated the heart of Boston.
Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker helped flip the switch to turn on the lights.
