200 Marijuana Plants Seized From Fall River Growing Operation

FALL RIVER (CBS) -- Police seized about 200 marijuana plants and a gun from a growing operation in Fall River Monday morning.

The warehouse full of marijuana was discovered at about 3:40 a.m. by a patrolling officer, who noticed a door had been forced in to a building at 379 Kilburn St.

Fall River police said the officer detected "an overwhelming smell of marijuana" and saw about 100 marijuana plants in one room. In another room, he found a similar growing operation with 100 plants, averaging about 3 feet tall.

Police seized the marijuana plants, and also confiscated surveillance system footage and a handgun with ammunition.
