Facebook Working On Dislike Button, Mark Zuckerberg Says

MENLO PARK, Calif. (CBS) -- It's a change many Facebook users have long awaited – a "Dislike" button may soon be coming to your news feed.

According to Time and other media outlets, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced during a Q&A Tuesday that the social media network has something in the works for people to express negativity.

"I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years," Zuckerberg said. "Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we're working on it and shipping it."

Zuckerberg said he's not looking to encourage a culture of negativity on Facebook, but the company seems to be acknowledging that a "Like" isn't right for every post.

"What they really want is the ability to express empathy. Not every moment is a good moment," Zuckerberg said.
