Man Killed In Route 101 Rollover After NH Police Chase

EXETER, N.H. (CBS) -- A Hampton, N.H. man was killed in a rollover accident after a police chase on Route 101 Saturday.

Eric Williams, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 3 p.m. Saturday, New Hampshire State Police said a trooper tried to stop Williams for multiple violations while driving eastbound on Route 101 in Exeter. Police said Williams did not stop, instead blowing past at a high rate of speed. He then swerved to the right between Exits 11 and 12, losing control and rolling over the median. Williams, who was the sole occupant and was driving without a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.

Both lanes of Route 101 were closed for several hours while officials investigated the crash.

Police are asking anyone with more information about the crash to contact Trooper First Class Bryan Plamondon at (603) 223-8677 or email at bryan.plamondon@dos.nh.gov.
