Ex-Girlfriend Of Accused Killer Alemany Provides Tearful Testimony

BOSTON (CBS) – The ex-girlfriend of accused killer Edwin Alemany took the stand on Friday and broke down in tears during testimony about the murder of Amy Lord.

Elizabeth Stephenson, Alemany's ex-girlfriend, is the mother of his child.

During her testimony, Stephenson recalled Alemany's volatile behavior, adding "I couldn't control him."

At one point during her testimony, Stephenson abruptly asked to be excused and walked out of the courtroom.

Throughout much of time while Stephenson was on the stand, Alemany sat in his chair rocking back and forth.

"When you love somebody it's really hard to let them go when you have a daughter with them and you only want to have a good life and you want the best for somebody and you love them," said Stephenson of her relationship with Alemany.

Alemany is charged with the 2013 kidnapping and murder of Lord, a South Boston resident. He is likely seeking an insanity defense.
