61-Year-Old Man Killed In Fall River House Fire Identified

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say a 61-year-old man has died in a fire at a Fall River home.

The victim of the blaze in a three-story house reported at about 6 a.m. Sunday was identified by the Bristol district attorney's office as Emile Saucier.

Three other people who lived in the building escaped.

Saucier was a tenant in the third-floor unit and was pronounced dead at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation but investigators say it does not appear suspicious.

Firefighters responded when they got a call from a tenant who heard the alarms go off. The blaze was brought under control within an hour.
