Holiday Hijinks: Elf On The Shelf 'Wanted' By Bourne Police

BOURNE (CBS) – The latest addition to the Bourne police wanted list is a familiar face this time of year.

The department took to Facebook Sunday to post mug shots of the popular "Elf On The Shelf" doll that's said to be the eyes and ears of Santa Claus.

Police said the elf is wanted in a string of gingerbread house invasions and is known to be a specialist in covert surveillance.

"Do not approach and especially DO NOT touch as this is known to cause loss of magical abilities to report back to his jolly kingpin!" police wrote.

The post has been shared more than 900 times on Facebook.
