Elementary Students In Lexington Support Classmate With Cancer

LEXINGTON (CBS) – Students at the Bridge Elementary School in Lexington are doing all they can to support a classmate battling cancer.

On Wednesday, they held a dance party in the parking lot to rally around Quinn Amsler.

The second grader is being treated at Dana Farber and every week his school does something different to show their support.

"I shaved my head for Quinn, I did a T and a Q for us," his best friend Timmy Morin said. "This is our third year in the same class together and I hope next year if he's better we can be in the same class. I miss him a lot."

"Quinn's mom emailed the school this morning letting us know he moved out of the ICU and into a regular room last night, so we're hoping that all this positive energy is good for Quinn," Assistant Principal Erin Maguire said.

Wednesday morning's dance party raised about $1000.
