Elderly Man Dies After Hit & Run In Worcester

WORCESTER (CBS) - An 83-year-old man was struck and killed by a hit and run driver in Worcester early Saturday morning.

Worcester police say the victim was crossing the street in front of the McDonald's restaurant on Main Street just after 2:45 a.m. when he was hit.

He was rushed to the hospital, where he died.

Police say the vehicle that struck the man took off from the scene.

Police are currently looking for a Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Town & Country van that may have been involved in the crash. The vehicle is possibly a 2002 to 2007 model year. The vehicle was described as dark in color and may have damage to the front hood and possibly damage to the windshield.

Police have not released the victim's identification.
