Eduardo Rodriguez Leaves Spring Training Workout After Tweaking Knee

BOSTON (CBS) – The Red Sox received a bit of a scare during their Saturday workout from one of the key members of their starting rotation.

Eduardo Rodriguez, who showed signs of dominance in his rookie year, tweaked his left knee during a Spring Training drill in Fort Myers.

"He was backing down the mound and caught a spike, tweaked his knee a little bit," manager John Farrell told reporters. "Going through the training room assessment, unable to reproduce any kind of discomfort. We'll certainly get a better read on it when he comes in in the morning."

According to reports, Rodriguez was tended to by trainers, but walked off under his own power.

During 21 starts in 2015, Rodriguez went 10-6 and managed an ERA of 3.85.
