2 Hit By Private Bus In East Boston, 1 Dies

EAST BOSTON (CBS) – Two people were hit by a private bus in East Boston early Sunday morning and one of them died.

The private bus hit the two pedestrians at McClellan Highway (Route 1A) and Addison Street near the Courtyard Marriot just after 2 a.m.

One died at the scene. The other was rushed to the hospital.

Boston Police said the driver is cooperating with investigators.

No names have been released.

Brandon Braddock, the general manager of Celebrity Limousine Worldwide released a statement following the incident.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims.  We are cooperating with Boston Police and will provide officials with anything that they need to investigate this tragic accident. Our driver was questioned by Boston Police briefly as per protocol before he was released and sent home.  We have been in the business since 1999, with no accidents ever on our record and will continue to cooperate during the investigation of this tragedy. Again our deepest sympathies to the victims families.
