Early Voting Exceeds Expectations In Massachusetts

BOSTON (CBS) -- The number of people participating in early voting has exceeded expectations by hundreds of thousands, Mass. Secretary of State William Galvin's office said Wednesday.

On Saturday, Galvin said he expected half a million voters to cast their votes before election day--but on Wednesday, two days before the period for early voting ended, Galvin's office said roughly 700,000 votes had been cast as of noon.

Those votes won't be counted until after November 8.

This year was the first time Massachusetts has had voting on a weekend.

The early voting period runs until November 4. You can find your early voting location online through the Secretary of the Commonwealth's website.
