Drone Spotted Near Logan Airport For Second Time In A Week

BOSTON (CBS) - For the second time in a week, a flight crew spotted a drone near Logan Airport.

A JetBlue plane flew-in around noon on Friday and the crew called in to the tower alerting them to a drone.

"Tower, FYI, we have a drone off to our right about 700 feet spotted several seconds ago," said the pilot.

The flight landed safely. The crew reported the drone was one mile northeast of the airport. Under FAA rules, drones must stay five miles away from airports, and they are only allowed up to 400 feet.

On Christmas Day, an Air Canada Express flight landing on the same Logan runway reported a drone within the no-fly zone and at about 800 feet. The flight landed with no problems.

The FAA was notified in both cases. State Police are investigating.
