Person Falls Through Ice In Littleton Trying To Retrieve Drone
LITTLETON (CBS) -- A person fell through the ice in Littleton overnight while trying to retrieve a drone, officials said.
Firefighters responded to Mill Pond Wednesday morning after a maintenance worker saw a hole in the ice and footprints leading toward it. The worker also spotted a drone on the ice in the middle of the pond, the fire department said.
Authorities eventually discovered footprints leading out of the pond and toward a house. Fire officials were able to confirm that a person did fall through the ice overnight, but was able to get out on their own.
A firefighter will likely use a special suit to go out and retrieve the drone Wednesday so that no one else falls through trying to reach it.
