Driver Who Crashed Into Tractor-Trailer On I-495 Has Died

HOPKINTON, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts State Police say a New Hampshire man has died in a crash on Interstate 495 in Hopkinton.

Police say 53-year-old Marcel Masse, of Lancaster, New Hampshire, was driving north on the highway just after 6 a.m. on Tuesday when he struck a truck from behind.

The impact of the crash, which occurred in the right travel lane, entrapped Masse in his vehicle.

He was extricated by the Hopkinton Fire Department and transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The truck was traveling at a relatively slow speed when it was struck, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
